Kerala Veterans Cricket Association welcomes you

Veteran's Premier League: Season - II (Scorecards and Statistics)

Kerala Veteran's Cricket Association (KVCA), a fraternity of former state cricketers,is organizing the second edition of the Veteran's Premier League (BFIT VPL 2015). This is being held in Kochi from 14 February to 15 February 2015.

K Mohan, former player and President, KVCA observed that, Unlike last year, this time we intend to raise funds for a purpose. Some funds have been earmarked for our former team mates who may be in need of funds for some emergency. We had about thirty odd sponsors last year and we expect many from the corporate world to support us with their contributions. BFit, a Dubai based Sports Equipment Manufacturing and Marketing firm has consented to be the title sponsor of the tournament.

S Sunil Kumar, former player and Secretary of KVCA said, This is for the first time in India that such a tournament was organised last year. Since it was a success we have decided to do it as an annual event as part of KVCA's activities. We are happy that B Fit has chosen the VPL to launch some of their premier products in sports-crazy Kerala.Six teams from across the state would participate in a Twenty/20 format in the VPL. The tournament will be played in colour clothing and white ball at the Palace Oval and Rajagiri College Grounds. There would be live telecast of the matches on both days.

In fact this thought about a VPL came about when the organization realised that most of the ex-stars of Kerala cricket were still active in club cricket and it was decided to give them an opportunity to showcase their skills at an appropriate occasion. This would also bring together all the former players once a year.
